Workshops

You are building your own floor-standing loudspeakers.

Many people would like to build their own loudspeakers but hesitate if this is doable.
You can make a very good loudspeaker with good help, instructions, and working hours. Listening to your project in the evening is much more fun than buying a set of loudspeakers.
The quality is good because we use top-class Scan Speak, Morel, Wavecor, and Seas drivers. So you get very good loudspeakers for a reasonable price.

Woodworking is done with a Felder 700 sliding table saw. This saw makes all the MDF panels nicely angled and accurately cut to the millimetre. Working with MDF means you must paint your loudspeakers in any preferred colour. But you can also choose for Berk Plywood. In that case, you have to varnish the loudspeakers. In this case, I prefer to use black MDF for the baffle. But you can choose completely for yourself. Any design is possible. I started even with the baffle with a leather-covered front. However, the building process is more complex, and I wouldn't suggest this as your first project.

The speaker drivers are routed in the baffle with a Festool router. You will get some help with this in my woodworking workshop.
Glueing the cabinet together is easy with a couple of Gamma glue tongs, but it requires some tips.
You will also get advice on sanding and panting your loudspeakers.

If you get stuck, there is always some help to complete your project successfully.

Drivers and the cross-over parts will be delivered as a set together with the MDF or Berk plywood.

We use very good Jantzen audio components from Denmark. Soldering is easy again but with some advice,

We have three different designs, which you can hear in our demo room. Take your own current loudspeakers and amplifiers with you and find out which model you like most.

Program

The building is on two Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00, with two weeks in between for your own working time. There is room for two participants during the workshop.
In between, you can mail me, and if needed, we can do a WhatsApp video call for help.

The workshop costs 500 euros for both Saturdays and any help via WhatsApp.
Wood costs about 100 to 200 euros depending on the loudspeaker design. The design also affects the drivers and crossover components. We will have three levels to choose from.
